Prototype exhibition 2007 Tokyo Japan II
Cool Design Focus December 20th, 2007Cool industrial design ‘Arborism’ by Nosigner, a table which has legs in the form of trees.
The unique design of the legs has been determined by a fractalalgorithm called the “Tree Curve.” So the design is the same as the branch structure of a real tree. The interesting point of this design is that it was completed not by the arbitrary work of the designer but by the natural logic of nature itself.
As we have recently adapted to urban life, we have become more and more distanced from natural life.
Cool industrial design: Spring rain
The Asian pasta “bean-starch vermicelli” is called “spring rain” in Japanese named by chinese characters of it. This is a lighting made by bean-starch vermicelli. As a matter of course, it is edible when boiled. Vermicelli is a naturally made biodegradable plastic and can be said ecological product for recycling use.
Cool industrial design ‘Kirikabu’ by designer Ben Nagaoka, a piece of stump-like furniture in which three trunksconnect with a root.It can function as a bench or a table; but at the same time, it is just a stump.
Cool industrial design: 5 stacking chair.
They are different size of 5 chairs. Stacking from smallest to biggest chair , they become one big chair. If you separate one big chair, It will become 5 pieces. Small chair is for kids, big chair is for adult.
PROTOTYPE, an exhibition of prototype works from 14 product designers, architects, and other creatives. A collection of prototypes, models and sketches illustrates the design process and shows how ideas are developed through the use of prototypes. The show highlights how prototypes are used as vehicles for solving problems and generating new ideas. Â
