Cool industrial design ‘A4 lamp shade’ from designer Chris Kirby balances floor clutter with a beatiful light fixture resembling loose papers. Each shade is made from a single piece of folded A3 paper.
It can be made out of existing scrap papers or decorated, making it highly customizable. The “Mushihanko” insect stamps turn a typically annoying occurence into a welcome feature.Â
Cool industrial design: Nesting low table
Inspired by a pair of overlapping pieces of paper, the nesting tables shift apart to provide extra space when needed. Cluttered papers on their surface do not look disorderly and their form helps break up the orthogonal lines imposed by the room.

A shelving system inspired by the beauty in clutter makes it alright to live in disarray.  Slightly skewed boxes defuse the tension created by misaligned
papers and books and the two “satellites” create a smooth transition from shelf-based storage to floor-based storage.
PROTOTYPE, an exhibition of prototype works from 14 product designers, architects, and other creatives. A collection of prototypes, models and sketches illustrates the design process and shows how ideas are developed through the use of prototypes. The show highlights how prototypes are used as vehicles for solving problems and generating new ideas. Â
